August 2015 – Ella’s 9th birthday party: The lights went out at Kenmore Lanes because of a big storm. Everyone got bowl time in and we got our pizza fortunately before the power went out for good but the lights flickered a few times during their game and went out completely once early on when bowling and we thought we were out of luck. After the lights went out for good we hit the party room which had plenty of natural light (thank goodness!) and opened presents and had cake and took “prop” pictures after “strike”-ing a pose. It was close to disaster but fortunately now just goes down in history as pretty memorable. We had to use cell phones for light in the bathroom.
