Thanksgiving 2011

Lately...
Keira likes to make "anchors" out of her Trader Joe Jo Jo cookies lately.  She pulls them apart and bites into two sides each time and shows me her anchor.  She came up with it all by herself.

Ella calls mom wa wa and dad ya ya.  Too much Ni Hao Kai Lan TV:)

11/29/11 Travis was tucking in Ella who was being a little ornery and doing gymnastics off of her bed and said she hurt herself.  She said she hurt her arm so dad asked her if she could raise her arms high above her head.  She said she couldn't do it.  So dad said "okay, let's go get our coats so we can go to the emergency room" and just as quickly she raised her arms high over her head.  Sneeky little Ella:)

Thanksgiving: Ribs instead of turkey, fresh green beans, smoked pork, coleslaw, fresh rolls, beans, pumkin roll, pies oh my! And it was all topped off with some Just Dance 2. No one could touch me but there is always next year! Jason, Debbie, Lynzee, and Abbey graciously hosted again.  Ella and Keira had a great time.  Ella held baby Riley first chance she got and had a ball playing Just Dance as seen below.  Keira played a couple of times and then bowed out.  She is a natural though.

OMSI - November 2011

We had a great time at OMSI this morning with Shaila and David.  Uncle David Mc also joined us for lunch at OMSI and Ella enjoyed being silly with him.  On our way home the topic of car seats came up somehow.  Shaila mentioned that Travis' car seat was just a box when he was a kid and they remember grandpa Spencer fashioning an airplane like seatbelt once and getting cookies from his aunt when he visited Oregon and the comment was made that we had all the fun when we were kids and kids today don't get to have much fun because they need car seats until they are like 37.  And Ella responded simply and said "well I had a little fun today at OMSI." :)  Keira continues the Shaila and Jonathan slow eater legacy and didn't eat much at lunch time so she was hungry as soon as we got in the car.  She kept mentioning how hungry she was when she woke up from her nap.  Shaila and Travis were shopping in Fred Meyer so Ella, David, Keira and I made up foods while we waited - car soup, spaghetti trees, steering wheel soufle, dancefloor turnover yum!
