July 2014 – Had a neighborhood movie night “Frozen.” And the girls
enjoyed staying up late and having water fights with the neighbors. Keira went
crabbing with Traivs and Tony. She was out late and got a little motion sick
after playing on dad’s phone but when she got back she was
so excited to tell me all about a crab escaping a pot and jumping back in the
water. Just days ago she ran away from a small crab at Carkeek park. Keira was
supposed to go again but got all the way to the boat docked in Edmonds and then
it had engine problems and wouldn’t start. At least they didn’t get stuck on
the water. Kim took Ella and Olivia to McDonalds. Ella brought home Olivia’s
happy meal toy for Keira and they both made beds for their toys. Ella made a
bed from her happy meal box and Keira made one from her Kleenex box. Keira made
me laugh when we were playing catch with Ella and she put her mitt over her
face and pretended to be Darth Vader and then took it away to reveal a
beautiful dirt mustache.
July 27, 2014 – Spent the last few days with grammy and
April and Rich and family and Shaila, David, and Jared. Also hiked Tradition
lake Loop which is part of the Tiger Mountain trails. We were lucky to make it
there in April’s friend’s suburban. It overheated by the time we made it to the
trail. We went way further than we should on the drive but Abby was so good
with the kids while they waited and played games with them as we tried to figure things out. Rich was nervous
about the car and didn’t want to rush driving it anymore after getting it so
hot and then two door locks got stuck. Eventually Rich fixed the locks and the
car cooled. Ella took her first full on nature pee in the woods where we parked
because there was no alternative😉 Once we made it to the hike we all had a
great time. Took an off-shoot hike that had a self-guided tour about a swamp
monster. Decided to brave the Mariner’s game in the suburban (“Big Bertha”). Went
to Teriyaki and More in Bellevue before going to the game. Mariner’s vs.
Orioles but Mariner’s lost. Got to see fireworks to the music of “Sweet
Caroline” and Frozen. Big Bertha didn’t start when we went to head home. After
asking a lot of people for help we found a nice older couple that helped us.
Traffic was awful and almost all of the kids fell asleep. Played at the park by grammys and had crab (thanks to Tony and Travis) and Salmon at Bonnie and
Spencer’s the next day. Also hiked near grammys.
Mom met Erica downtown for a cupcake as a break from jury duty, some park time at Carkeek, summer fun pics, and Wallace Falls and more.
Keira likes to say “ba-bam!” a lot lately (from
the Disney show Jesse).
