Keira's actual birthday party at home. More April fun at the Fisher Pavillion with the Nye's. And celebrated Grammy's birthday on April 6th.

April 23, 2013 – Went to Alara’s 5^th birthday party at Elevated Sportz where Keira loved the spinning cage. Then it was off to North Creek Park nearby afterwards. Cindi had a picnic spread and chocolate cupcakes with pink frosting.

April 24, 2013 – Happy 5th birthday Keira! K woke to some presents and decorations after a good snuggle with mom. K got a lalaloopsy doll and color wonder book and Barbie pool. Ella got her a necklace. Took a picnic lunch to Bothell landing with Alara while Cindi was at a doctor appointment with Kaedria. Played soccer with Tai Kato, went on a walk with Natalie Self, and tried to fend off Evan who wasn’t having another day at the park with the girls after Alara’s party. Hit Cold Stone and met Cindi and took Alara home to watch Barbie Princess Charm School. After E got home from school it was grandparent time at Red Robin and homemade funfetti cake at home. The girls talked about how old they are now. E says google plex is the largest number. K says goo-goo-plex. She will be goo goo plex on her next birthday.

Ella’s latest favorite thing to say is “awe come on!” If I tell her she needs to get ready for bed, or stop playing and set the table, or anything at all that she doesn’t want to do then I hear “awe come on!” Tee hee hee.

April 27, 2013 – Poor K got a fever again. It’s been a rough season for her and fevers. This is her 4^th. She missed out having her birthday party and had to reschedule. She was a trooper about it.

Easter! Egg hunt at Bothell Landing with Kamikawa's, Phillips, Nye's, and Zinnigers. Pacific Science Center with the Nye's. Ella's field trip to the Mercer Slough - first grade. 

March 19, 2013 – 'Well body' exhibit at the Science Center. The girls loved the café diem where you could pretend to order food then find a representation of it on a conveyor belt and place it into a computer and plan your days worth of meals. Had a frightening experience when a seagull snatched half of Keira’s sandwich right from my hand on her plate. The girls were terrified to even eat after that and screamed whenever a bird got close. At dinner we told Travis about our day and Keira said of the insect exhibit where you can pet a cockroach… “I don’t ever NEVER want to pet a cockroach!”

March 22, 2013 – Bingo night at BHS commons. Dad got a bingo and Ella picked out a basket of puzzles, Groucho Marx glasses, and a Dawn’s Candy class certificate. Watched “Good Luck Charlie” on the Disney Chanel together and the boy on the show was saving soda cans to earn money and was told that Colorado doesn’t pay you for cans. So he asked his dad to take them to Kansas. Then K said…”get it?...”Can”-sas!” I love Keira’s creativity!

March 30, 2013 - Dad took Ella to Bothell Landing for our annual Easter Egg hunt with church friends. Poor K stayed at home with a fever. On Easter dad made souvlaki and his parents and grammy and the Rosensprungs came for dinner. Our neighbor Cherie and her friend Kathy brought over Easter treats for the girls. I made deviled eggs and strawberry shortcake.

Feb 10, 2013 – Dinner at the Rosensprungs. Kim had the girls try to find 20 face cards in one minute to win a whole pack of gum. They found 19 but Kim gave them a piece anyway.

Feb 13, 2013 – I volunteered in the morning at the breakfast program and in Ella’s class. Made cookie dough for heart sugar cookies tomorrow. Erica watched the girls so Travis and I could go on a date to Mayuri in Bellevue. When I got my non-mom-sized date night purse K said “oooooh…that’s a nice date night purse mom!” Erica said they played “egg” while we were gone which involved Keira sticking her arms in her night gown at her side and hiding them and rolling around. Erica was a tooth brushing nazi and made sure they brushed and flossed right because they tried to get away with a fast job of it. K had a pile of pillow pets on her when we checked on her after we came home, 3 unicorns. Erica said they’re both amazing at dancing the robot. Erica painted Ella’s nails and Keira’s were already painted and Erica painted hearts on some of their nails which was the first thing they told me about in the morning. Erica said Ella wanted to be really careful with her nails after they were painted and then proceeded to touch each one of them. Ella made sure that they read scriptures and said their prayers before bed. That gal loves her structure.

Feb 14, 2013 – Happy Valentine’s Day! Started the day with heart waffles, pink ones of course, dad’s idea. Did a treasure hunt for each of the girls and they found a bag of candy at the end. Dad had one clue on the bathroom mirror “get a prize where temperatures rise” and he found some chocolates and new pj bottoms in the oven. Dad got mom some hyacinths. Volunteered again. Special art teacher Mrs. Williams did a Monet presentation and project. K joins me in Ms. Baris class. K cracked me up today by telling me I shouldn’t step on the cracks in the bathroom “tile” downstairs while we were in the bathroom. She said the black lines on the tiles will turn into monkeys and jump out of the floors and if you step right over where the floor to the bathroom meets the floor in the hall then little mice will peek through the floor and tickle your feet!

Visited the Campbells recently. Also saw Jason, Debbie, Abbey, Lynzee, and Riley and Dave, Missy, Ailee, and Finley for dinner at the Happy Panda. K and E had fun dancing with their cousins. Played the Labyrinth board game and our Joker’s Funhouse game with the Campbell cousins. Jonathan made the girls say “yellow money swag gangsta” as the password to get out of a hold. We learned about oreo “whisper fights.” Hit Big Al’s to go bowling. The girls learned to blow on their balls for luck from Uncle David. Travis went on the Klondike Derby campout this month. He had a good but cold time while we had our own girls weekend at the Home Depot workshop making hydroplanes and then a trip to the donut house. The girls have been playing a lot of Mario Party lately and sleeping together. One night I went in 3 times to a crying/kicking/punching/Keira who must have been having a nightmare. Poor thing didn’t even wake up the first time I went in and I body straddled her the 3^rd time and I think she woke the other times but never said anything. Ella woke once or twice and I asked her if she wanted her own bed but she said no and tried to go back to sleep. Guess that’s the last time we watch the Amazing Race for FHE before bed…probably not though.
