Keira's 4th birthday/GWL/Weston's shower - April 2012

Happy 4th birthday sweetie pie! K got her nails done thanks to grandma. Then off to the Great Wolf Lodge for some family fun. Keira was pretty scared of most anything in the water park after getting gently knocked over by a wave shortly after getting there. But by day two she wanted to go on as many things as she could. She mustered up all of her courage and ventured to Fort Mackenzie, the River Canyon Run, and Alberta Falls. We liked to watch Ella on the Big Foot Pass but didn't like letting go of me. She didn't like the kiddie slides that ended with massive amounts of water in the face. The bunk bed was a huge hit with the girls. We went to story time at night at the great clock tower in the grand lobby. After some amazing quality adventure time together it was off to Portland for the future baby Weston's baby shower. Got to see Debbie, Lynzee, Abbey, Riley (the baby pic), Ailee, Finley, Missy, grandma and of course Auntie Sidney.  Keira and Ella enjoyed helping auntie Sidney open her presents:)

Easter and More - April 2012

What a happy Easter we had! Yesterday we started at Blythe Park with an egg hunt instead of the usual Doug Allen Sports field. We opted for Blythe because we were invited by Marissa Corless and knew that Camille and Constance and Aubrey and Dee Dee would be there. Ella went to Aubrey's 6th birthday party in the afternoon where she had an egg hunt again and played a fairy dust race which was just sugar on a spoon you raced to another side of the room. And then in the evening we all went to Bothell Landing with the Larsen's, Nye's, Rosensprungs, and Mills for picnic dinner and another Easter egg hunt.

April 4:We dyed Easter eggs with Cindi and Alara after Keira's preschool.

Went on a bike ride in our neighborhood and stopped at the open space. The girls made fairy houses out of dirt, grass, and rocks. I caught Keira singing yesterday out of nowhere the song "moves like Jagger" by Maroon 5.  She sang "I've got the moves like jacket!"

Made Easter dinner while the girls played dress up and were super sweet together.  At one point before church Keira was Petting Ella's unicorn and said it was the bravest unicorn in the whole wide world and it wasn't afraid of big robots or little robots or little baby spiders. That's one brave unicorn if you ask me. Travis made lamb and chicken skewers. And we made homemade honey wheat pitas the night before which are really yummy. We had gyro's and cous cous and others brought fruit and greek salads and snacks for the girls and we made strawberry shortcake for desert.

Keira's goofy face photo is what happens when she's waiting for Ella's gymnastics class to be over.

Playschool - March 2012

Keira's second official day of playschool: Cindi took Keira and Alara together. Keira was rather talkative about it when she got home. She said that they played doctor and helped fix two cats and two dogs. She played hide and seek with the animal toys and put them in cages and covered them in rice to hide them. She brought home a purple popcorn art project that she glued to paper. She told me exactly what they had for snacks, honey bear crackers, bananas, and juice. She said Alara doesn't like bananas and that she didn't want any either. And she said she showed Mrs. Rogers how she does a forward roll.
I considered letting Ella go to playschool too because Jane Rogers invited her to come since she is still 5. But I thought it would be best for Keira to have her own thing and I'm really glad I did.  I second guessed myself when I dropped Keira off the first day and Jane said nicely that she wished they could have Ella too. Ella was a bit sad she couldn't go in because she had a great time playing on orientation day. But I hope to spend some quality time with her hanging out at Third Place Books or going to Dick's to get burgers in the future.

Keira's first day of playschool - March 2012

Orientation day for parents and play time for kids was yesterday at Kellogg Middle School.  It's still a program run through Shorecrest High School and is still under the direction of Jane Rogers but is at Kellogg because the high school is under construction.

Laugh - March 2012

This past weekend was a whirlwind! The girls had Abbi over Thursday night and then we went to see the Lorax on Friday with Maddie. Then the girls went to grandma's and grandpa's for a sleepover while mom and dad went to the Temple and dinner. The girls had a great time. Saturday grandma took them to see the Secret Life of Arietty while grammy kept grandpa company. The girls got a case of the sillies and wouldn't stop giggling as they bounced back and forth in their chairs. I love their contagious laughter!

Just Dancing - March 2012

Treated last night and tonight to a private ballet princess performance in the dark with me and Travis as the spot-lighters (used flashlights). Also recorded the girls last night while they played Just Dance.  We watched it during dinner and Ella gave me a shout out and totally tried to DJ the video.

Keira swim and snow - March 2012

It snowed on our way to swim class yesterday. During free play Keira was dipping her whole head over and over. She's making great progress. Her class got to go in the lazy river together and teacher Adam clipped their life jackets together so they were like a train.
